Clive and I love to travel and in this section of My Sydney Paris Life, you’ll find our travel tips and recommendations.

The sub-section ‘A Passion for Travel’  is an 11-part series (all posts listed below) beginning with travel planning, packing, and departure checklists; moving through recommended travel technology; top ten in-flight insights; managing jet lag; handling personal business while away; and how to have a successful re-entry when coming home.

We’re avid readers and — notwithstanding the emergence of e-books – books are always part of our travel experience. The sub-section ‘Travel and Books’ (posts listed below) contains a 5-part series about packing, finding, and returning home with books and more books; there’s also a related post about a wonderful book town, Hay-on-Wye, in Wales.

In ‘Trips and Tips’  you’ll find examples of our typical long-haul journeys and tips on aspects of travel such as how to avoid currency fees and how to stay connected with loved ones.

You’ll also find two sub-sections devoted to more in-depth posts about specific destinations. In the UK section, I’ve written about my love affair with Clive’s home town, Felixstowe and home county, Suffolk, including a 5-part series on Walking in Suffolk that includes a walk through the landscape of John Constable. You’ll also find posts about climbing the Great Orme and taking trains in Wales and the allure of Scotland and exploring the fields of Bannockburn, near Stirling.

The USA section contains posts about my home town, Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey and my young adult son’s home city, Washington, D.C., including the new U.S. Capitol Visitor Center.
