Washington, D.C.

We got lucky in Washington, D.C., arriving to beautiful spring weather and cherry blossoms in full bloom. Today we joined thousands of others walking around the nation’s capital.

After our non-stop days in New Jersey, it was a treat to have my son organise our itinerary and be our local tour guide.

KimB and Anne (Paris Anne as opposed to Oxfordshire Anne) if you’re reading this, your former/home city is a great place.

  1. I’ve never been to Washington, DC in the spring before. It really is a lovely city.

  2. What a sweet thought! Thanks for the photos….I can’t help but get a little teary looking at them, even though I’m loving being in Paris. A Washington spring is something to behold. Enjoy your time there.

  3. Hi Carolyn,

    So BEAUTIFUL !!!
I have seen some news coverage of the Cherry blossoms in DC recently and I’m sure that being there must be fab.

Will catch up to you in e mail … a lot of changes & stress on my side as you know.

    Cheers to you & Clive.

  4. Aww, thanks for the thought! Yes, Spring is magical in DC/VA (so is Fall). You hit it just right! So glad that this time Clive is getting to enjoy being a bit of a tourist and seeing more of the city — all decked out just for him!

    Looks just wonderful!

  5. DC always seems surreal to me. It is so iconic that it is hard to believe it is real.

  6. Linda, I definitely recommend being here in Spring – it’s great. Anne, yes it is truly something to behold. Barb, take care and glad you saw the blossoms on TV! Kim, Clive thinks Washington is fantastic but says he’s sorry President Obama left town when he heard he was coming 🙂 The best is being with my son and we’re thrilled he’s happy here. Belette, ‘iconic’ is a perfect word – it is both iconic and real at the same time – an impressive capital for sure.

    Cheers all.
