Walking at North Harbour Reserve, Sydney

North Harbour Reserve, Sydney

Sydney, Tuesday

Sydney has a seemingly endless supply of bays, coves, and inlets on the Harbour and ocean.  Often these are accompanied by shady reserves, large grassy areas ideal for weekend family picnics or weekday coffee breaks.

North Harbour Reserve is on the Manly to Spit Bridge Scenic Walkway, which some readers of this blog have done.  North Harbour is a small area between Forty Baskets Beach and Fairlight Beach.

Manly to Spit Bridge, or Spit Bridge to Manly, is one of our favourite walks in Sydney and one we always recommend to visitors.  If you like walking (it’s 10km total, but contains many easy and scenic shorter stretches) and being alongside the water, this is a brilliant way to experience Sydney Harbour.

Public school is still in session, and Monday afternoon was quiet except for walkers we heard talking in French, German, and Japanese.
