Winter To-ing and Fro-ing on Sydney Harbour

Sydney Harbour Afternoon 19 Aug 2008

Sydney, Tuesday

This afternoon we took a late picnic lunch and coffee to Bradley’s Head, part of Sydney Harbour National Park, as a break from the million and one things we have to do to get ready for our upcoming trip.  Neither Clive nor I sail, but we love watching boats of all shapes and sizes on the Harbour.

Today was peaceful and calm, just what we needed, with ferries going back and forth and only an occasional yacht or water taxi passing by.  Just before we left, two military helicopters did what appeared to be training exercises along the foreshores and over the Opera House.

This evening we watched from our balcony as a P&O cruise ship made its way quietly up the Harbour and out to sea.
